Meet Alex
Alex Bouvy is the co-founder of La Suite, a sustainable multi-label premium and luxury fashion retailer situated in the heart of Umm Sequim.
Alex was born in Brussels, Belgium and is a busy mum of 3. Over the many years of working in real estate, Alex had always dreamt of fashion career, that would enable her to put her natural creative flair and style into practice. Alex arrived in Dubai in 2013 and immediately observed a gap in the market for pre-loved premium fashion brands. Furthermore, prices for consumer goods were so inflated compared to Europe and many the premium Parisian brands that Alex knew and loved did not have a retail presence in the region at the time. Serving this un-tapped market, Alex began to host a number of pre-loved fashion sale events at home, making these brands accessible to friends and a growing community of stylish and fashionable expatriate women. With these events in such high demand, Alex could see the potential to grow her small passion into something much bigger. In less than a year, Alex co-founded, So Chic, a pre-loved fashion business in 2014 which evolved into La Suite in 2019.
Alex is an environmentalist and continually strives to support the circular fashion economy, raising awareness of the positive impact of purchasing pre-loved to consumers in the region.
